Highlights from first round playoff football games around the state on Friday-Saturday:

6A

It was all the reigning champs in a 56-7 win for No. 1 West Linn over No. 16 Roosevelt. QB Sloan Baker threw for 267 yards and four TDs while Viggo Anderson led the run game with 115 yards and one TD. Ashden Marquis was the top receiver with 147 yards and two TDs while MJ Kennybrew had 60 yards receiving and two scores. … Roman Mallard blocked a No. 9 Tualatin extra point in overtime to set up a 34-33 victory for No. 8 Jesuit on its ensuing possession. Luke Ortner ran for the game-tying score in OT to cap his night of 228 rushing yards and four TDs, and Luca Bolouri hit the PAT to send Jesuit to the second round.

No. 5 Central Catholic got the job done in every aspect of the game to block any upset chance from No. 12 Newberg, winning 42-14. QB Robbie Long threw for 141 yards and three TDs for the Rams, meanwhile KK Sombe ran for 100 yards with a TD and Tyson Davis scored twice on the ground. … No. 4 Willamette dominated in round one, taking out No. 13 Mountainside 42-20. QB Zeke Thomas kept his hot streak going with 236 passing yards and five more TDs, and he also ran the ball for 56 yards and another score. Hunter Vaughn had 79 yards receiving with two scores while Brodie Butler was the leading receiver with 80 yards and a score. 

No. 3 Lake Oswego had a running clock in the second half, beating No. 14 Sprague 49-14. QB Hudson Kurland tossed two TDs and ran for one himself, meanwhile Justin Craigwell scored twice on the ground and LaMarcus Bell found the end zone once rushing. … No. 11 Grants Pass pulled the upset of No. 6 Sherwood 35-32 behind three touchdowns from QB Jordan Rossetta to WR Brevik Hill. Rossetta finished with 192 yards, 133 of that going to Hill along with the three scores.  

Ansu Sanoe scored four times to help No. 10 Lakeridge go on the road and beat No. 7 Glencoe 35-21. … No. 2 Nelson took care of business in a 35-12 win over visiting No. 15 West Salem. QB Danny Leary threw for 291 yards and four TDs, three of those scores going to Malachi Garlington who had 91 receiving yards. Corbin Crosslin led the ground attack with 118 rushing yards and a TD.

No. 17 Sandy scored on its first possession and the defense held firm to blank No. 24 Lincoln 14-0 in the first round of the 6A Columbia Cup. Hudson Pearson caught a TD pass and Caden McMahon scored the other TD on the ground. … Oliver Luebkert hauled in three TDs and 114 receiving yards to help No. 21 Beaverton go on the road and beat No. 20 North Salem 35-15. Luebkert is now tied for the most career TD receptions in state history with 51.

No. 19 Clackamas scored 14 points in the fourth quarter to comeback and down No. 22 Liberty 35-31. … No. 18 South Medford had an all-around offensive night in a 38-7 win over No. 23 Oregon City. QB Makana Brown threw two TDs while Kellen Lefebvre ran for 164 yards with two scores. Wes Boyd caught and rushed for a TD and Sammy Huxtable led the defense with two INTs.

5A

No. 1 Summit rolled to a 57-10 win over No. 16 Gresham. Jude Anderson led the ground game with 168 yards and a TD while Max Shepherd added in 74 yards and two TDs on the ground. Connor Connelly was back and returned a punt 68 yards for a TD along with grabbing an interception. QB Andrew Guthrie tossed four TDs to four different receivers. … After giving up the first 10 points, No. 5 Thurston bounced back and took down No. 12 Bend 34-17 to advance. QB Emmit Distefano tossed three TDs and scored one more on the ground. … No. 13 Churchill pulled off one of the biggest upsets in the first round by taking out red-hot No. 4 Lebanon 21-8. RB Lukas Babbitt was the catalyst with 182 yards rushing and he scored all three of the Lancers’ touchdowns. 

No. 3 Mountain View forced four turnovers to help pitch the 41-0 shutout over No. 14 Hillsboro. Offensively, Ryder Carpenter went for 157 rushing yards and two TDs with Angel Valenzuela not far behind at 112 and one TD. Backup QB Liam Wheir stepped in and threw TD passes, both to Valenzuela. … The defending champs were nearly done in the first round, but No. 7 Wilsonville pulled out a 45-42 win over No. 10 Ridgeview to stay alive. Wildcats QB Trevor Glos had 440 yards passing with four TDs while Roman Kealoha had the game-winning score, one of his two TDs on the night. Luke Carli caught two TDs and Keona Tam had a TD reception and kickoff-return score. … No. 2 Silverton gave up 326 yards, but got the stops when it needed them and pounded away on offense in a 49-12 win over No. 15 Crater. Foxes QB Chase Dominguez threw for 236 yards and four TDs, two apiece to Gavin Aguero and Sutton Kuenzi. 

4A

No. 5 Tillamook dispatched No. 12 North Bend 48-12. Cheesemakers QB Kevin Hurliman hurled for 333 passing yards and four TDs, most that split between Griffyn Boomer (159 yards, two TDs) and Jakoby Goss (124 yards, TDs). … Ayden Heard had three interceptions, one returned for a TD, to help No. 4 Scappoose cruise by No. 13 Baker 49-0. On offense, Elijah Greenan Biggs scored three times, twice on the ground and once through the air, while Colton Smith also scored twice on the ground. Nolan Lennox caught a pass from Will Kessi for the final TD.

No. 3 Henley dominated at home in a 49-13 win over No. 14 Seaside. QB Joseph Janney threw for 214 yards and three TDs along with one rushing TD while Jeremiah Brunick ran for 100 yards and a score. Handsome Townsend added two rushing TDs on six carries and Jacob Bocchi had two interceptions on defense. … Blake Barger was everywhere for No. 6 Estacada in a 42-22 victory over No. 11 Marist Catholic. Barger helped the Rangers score first by getting the tackle on a safety, then followed it up with three rushing TDs, two in the fourth, and a pick-six in the fourth . He finished with 166 rushing yards to go along with the three offensive scores. … No. 2 Marshfield got five total touchdowns from QB Enoch Niblett to take care of No. 15 Crescent Valley 49-14. Niblett threw for 211 yards and four TDs and also rushed for 61 yards and another score. Lane Olsen caught two of those TDs while the defense came up with four sacks and three turnovers.

3A

No. 1 Cascade Christian continues to roll in 3A where it took out No. 16 Pleasant Hill 68-0. Bryson Walker rushed for 63 yards and three TDs while Deryk Farmer ran for 120 yards, scored twice on the ground and also threw one TD. Seth Scaglione caught two TD passes. … No. 9 North Valley held No. 8 Sisters to just 141 total yards in a 17-7 victory. Both Knights touchdowns came in the second quarter, both TD passes from Shane Sifre with one going to Kevin Champion and the other to Jonas Hemsley

Johnny Mariano ran for 251 yards and three TDs to power No. 12 Gervais to the 48-28 upset of No. 5 Siuslaw. … No. 13 Douglas stunned unbeaten No. 4 Dayton with a 21-18 victory. Jaden Burkhart did the heavy lifting on offense with 142 yards rushing and a TD, meanwhile Ryder Sawyer connected with Reese Willis for two scores, the second of which came with 4:24 left in the game that put the Trojans ahead for good. Burkhart also had one of three fumble recoveries for Douglas.

No. 3 Burns was right at home in a 54-7 win over No. 14 Phoenix. QB Jack Wright threw for 281 yards and five TDs, Coltin Miller being the main target as usual with 168 receiving yards and two TDs. Tommy Winn ran for 123 yards and two TDs and the defense forced two turnovers. … No. 6 Vale didn’t play around in a 56-7 win over No. 11 Warrenton. The Vikings were up 49-0 at halftime after Cal Johnson threw for 124 yards and three TDs and also ran for 69 yards and two more scores. Thomas Rodriguez caught one of those TDs and also had a rushing TD.

No. 7 Kennedy avenged last year’s first round loss to No. 10 Santiam Christian with a 28-19 victory. Colby Rich scored three times, twice on the ground once on a pass from Brody Panuke. The QB also threw a TD to Landon Kline, who had two interceptions on defense to pair with his 70-yard offensive score. … No. 2 Banks got four total touchdowns and over 300 yards of offense from QB Nate Lyda to defeat No. 15 Sutherlin 39-8. Lyda threw for 204 yards with two TDs and also ran for 104 yards with two more scores. Garrett Graham ended up catching three TDs passes for the Braves.

2A

No. 1 Heppner began the playoffs with a dominant 54-0 win over No. 16 Nestucca. Caylan Proudfoot threw for 155 yards and three TDs while Alakae Rodriguez was big on the ground with 130 yards and a TD. Caleb George added two rushing TDs and two picks on defense, and Tripp Stewart had one rushing TD, a punt return TD and two interceptions on defense as well. … No. 8 Lowell won the yardage battle 412-134 and the game with No. 9 Oakland 34-14. The Devils picked up five total turnovers (three INTs, two fumbles) with one fumble being returned for a TD in a 21-point second quarter that created the separation. … No. 5 Clatskanie stopped a two-point conversion that would have tied the game late in a 22-20 win over No. 12 Colton. QB Will VonVoorst provided the offense with 98 rushing yards, two rushing TDs, 79 passing yards and one passing TD. Lucas Andreasen had 151 rushing yards while Daylon Gutierrez had a 25-yard TD catch.

No. 4 St. Paul ran through No. 13 Gold Beach 52-12. QB Noah Hockett threw for 217 yards and three TDs while Branson Cook bullied his way on the ground with 123 yards and two scores. Sullivan Grott was the main receiving target for Hockett, making three catches for 155 yards and all three going for TDs. … No. 3 Bandon defeated No. 14 Harrisburg 47-27 to advance to the quarterfinals. QB Reggie Turner had 187 rushing yards with two TDs, along with one passing TD. Hayden Thompson was strong on the ground as well with 161 yards and a TD. … No. 2 Lost River was in control in a 49-0 win over No. 15 Weston-McEwen. Kellen Dunlea ran for 133 yards and two TDs while QB Kyle Diaz had three passing TDs.

1A 8-man

No. 8 Perrydale held on to beat No. 9 Powder Valley 22-20. Pirates sophomore Patrick Fox forced a fumble on the Badgers final possession to get the ball back and run out the block. Landon Eichler ran for 129 yards and a TD while Broden Ferguson had 158 rushing yards and two TDs, along with 11 tackles and two sacks on defense. … No. 5 Elgin went up big in the first half and didn’t look back in a 52-8 win over No. 12 Camas Valley. Aiden Miller had three rushing TDs and Hunter Myers had two to lead the Huskies.

No. 6 Imbler shutout No. 11 Riddle 44-0 to open the postseason. Carson Yancey and Paden Phelps each ran for two TDs while Forrest Tyrrell and Jay Browne each chipped in a rushing TD. … No. 7 North Douglas outscored and outlasted No. 10 Lyle/Wishram/Klickitat/Glenwood with a 36-30 final. Jaycen Marois was great once again, scoring his fourth TD of the night with 6:30 left in the game that proved to be the game-winner. He had 187 rushing yards with two rushing TDs and two more receiving. 

1A 6-man

No. 9 Crow went on the road and handled No. 8 Dayville/Monument/Long Creek 52-12. Cayden Hernandez ran the ball for 143 yards and two TDs and also connected on three passes, two of them going for TDs. Foster Otley had two rushing TDs as well and Aiden DeLeon chipped in 165 rushing yards and two TDs. … No. 5 Joseph turned back No. 12 Spray/Mitchell/Wheeler by a final score of 53-6. Kooper Grover was electric once again, rushing for 208 yards and five TDs as well as returning a kickoff for a score and 10.5 tackles on defense. Jonah Lyman ran for 143 yards and a TD and Isaac Beachy made 10.5 tackles on defense.
