A look at Tuesday’s first-round 5A and 4A playoff baseball games in the OSAA / OnPoint Community Credit Union State Championships. We will update this story as results roll in.

No. 1 Corvallis 3, No. 16 Canby 1 -- A pitcher's duel went the way of the top-seeded Spartans. Jack Brauckmiller was stout on the mound for Canby, but the duo of Andrew Street and Ben Weiss was just a little better. Hank McMahon and Logan Lassiter each drove in a run for the victors.
No. 8 Thurston 4, No. 9 Bend 2 – Grady Saunders went the distance on the mound, with 10 Ks, and Levi Woodman went 2-2 with a homer and two RBIs to help the Colts double up Bend.
No. 12 West Albany 5, No. 5 Crater 2 --
No. 4 Summit 8, No. 13 Eagle Point 0 – Ryker Hartlaub tossed a perfect game for the defending champs, fanning eight. Sophomore Evan Guadalupe went 3-for-3 with two ribbies to lead the Storm offense.
No. 14 Silverton 9, No. 3 North Eugene 1 --
No. 6 Central 5, No. 11 Wilsonville 3 – JT Girod threw a complete game for the Panthers with 12 strikeouts and Joe Mendazona and Cooper Larson each went yard in the tight win over the always-tough Wildcats.
No. 10 Ridgeview 6, No. 7 La Salle Prep 3 -- Ryden Nakamura had a big day on the mound and at the plate in the Ravens' win. The senior RHP pitched into the seventh, fanning seven, and went 2-for-3 t the dish, with a homer and three RBIs. Bennett Wyatt added two hits, including a homer of his own, for Ridgeview.
No. 2 Hood River Valley 8, No. 15 Crescent Valley / Kings Valley Charter 3 – A four-run third inning helped HRV pull away for the win. Senior Bodie Stuben was incredible in relief for the Eagles, who got five RBIs combined from Kingston McAdam and Elliot Dillingham and great OF play from Davin Snyder and Nick Tuttle.

No. 1 Henley 5, No. 16 Astoria 4 -- Derrick Cox hit a two-run homer and Jacoby Tacchini also drove home two to help Henley escape upset-minded Astoria.
No. 8 Pendleton / Nixyaawii 7, No. 9 Molalla 4 – Vance Nelson’s two-run triple in the bottom of the second capped a four-run inning for the reigning state champs and made a winner of Colin Harrington, who yielded just one unearned run over five innings. Harrington also added two hits and two RBIs for the Bucks. Grant Brusseau was a bright spot for Molalla.
No. 12 Tillamook 6, No. 5 Hidden Valley 4 -- Tillamook scored four runs in the fifth and Jakoby Goss pitched six strong innings for the Cheesemakers, who had to hold off a late Hidden Valley charge to get the win.
No. 13 Estacada 1, No. 4 Junction City 0 -- Davin Olson and Caleb Showerman combined for the shutout, which spoiled a great outing for Junction City freshman Jarron Weed, who went the distance and allowed just one unearned run.
No. 3 Marist Catholic 7, No. 14 Philomath 6 – Philomath led 2-1 going into the bottom of the fifth, but Marist scored four on two-RBI hits from Brock Cranmer and Alec Malpass. Philomath answered with four runs of its own before the Spartans rallied to tie on a Grady Hazen sac fly. Gianni Lombardi drove home the winning run in the thriller.
No. 11 Phoenix 12, No. 6 Gladstone 7 -- Phoenix tallied 15 hits to take down the Gladiators on the road. Lucca Petrone led the way for the victorious Pirates with three hits and three RBIs. Nolan Marcoe matched Petrone's offense in defeat for Gladstone.
No. 7 Stayton 15, No. 10 La Grande 14 -- Stayton gave up 10 second-inning runs to La Grande, but found a way to win. The Eagles benefited from nine walks and five Tiger errors. Ryder Thiessen had two hits and three RBIs for the home team. Maddox Basl threw 5.1 innings in relief, yielding just one earned run.
No. 2 Scappoose 11, No. 15 North Bend 2 – Scappoose overwhelmed North Bend with an 11-hit attack. Levi Lozada had two hits for the perennial power, including a three-run shot in the bottom of the sixth that put the game out of reach. Will Kessi earned the win on the mound.
