Oct. 19 Statewide Volleyball Coaches Polls

OSAAtoday presents its twice-monthly statewide Volleyball Coaches Polls in all classifications. Thanks to all the coaches who took the time and had the expertise to contribute their opinions to this endeavor.

OSAAtoday will release its FINAL Volleyball Coaches Polls on Wednesday, Oct. 24.

Please note: these polls are for generating interest and discussion only and have no impact on the OSAA’s RPI and Colley ratings that form the basis of the OSAA’s rankings for playoff purposes.

Notes: Jesuit defeated Central Catholic 25-16, 25-23 in the West Linn Tournament on Saturday, getting 11 kills from Rose Booth and 10 kills from Alyssa Hughes. The Crusaders, unbeaten against Oregon teams, won both matches against Central Catholic this season. Jesuit has dropped only one set to an Oregon team, coming in a 2-1 win over Central Catholic on Sept. 8. ... West Linn finished 14-0 in the Three Rivers League, extending its league winning streak to 40, going back to a five-set loss to Sherwood in 2016.

Notes: Corvallis beat West Albany in both Mid-Willamette Conference meetings this season, 3-2 and 3-1. In the second meeting Oct. 9, Corvallis rallied from a 23-16 deficit in the fourth set to win 26-24, putting a stranglehold on the conference title. University of Portland-bound Ryann Gregg had 26 kills for Corvallis. ... Crater, which went 8-6 in the Midwestern League last year, can complete a 16-0 run through the league by beating North Eugene on Tuesday.
