All quarterfinals are set for Oregon high school girls volleyball after the second round in 6A, 3A and 1A went down Saturday, Nov. 1, along with the first round for 5A, 4A and 2A.
All six reigning champions are still in the hunt with 6A No. 3 Jesuit, 5A No. 1 South Albany, 4A No. 2 Marshfield, 3A No. 1 Valley Catholic and 1A No. 1 Crane. Last year’s 2A state champion in Salem Academy is also still in the tournament, but the Crusaders are in 3A this season.
The top seeds are all still alive as well with 6A No. 1 Sprague, 4A No. 1 Marist Catholic and 2A No. 1 Crosshill Christian.
The state tournaments will all take place Nov. 7-8 with 6A and 5A playing at Forest Grove High School, 4A at Marshfield High School, 3A at North Bend High School, 2A at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande and 1A at La Grande High School.

No. 1 Sprague def. No. 17 St. Mary’s Academy 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-14): The top-seeded Olympians are heading back to Forest Grove with a sweep of the Blues. Emma Brewer led in kills with 17 and had four aces. Brooke Friesen had 27 assists, six digs, six kills and four aces. Khloe Livingston had a double-double of 10 kills and 10 digs and Valen Longacre had five aces.
No. 9 South Medford def. No. 8 Central Catholic 3-2 (25-20, 25-18, 23-25, 17-25, 18-16): The Panthers hung on after winning the first two sets but dropping the next two on the road. Julia Slaughter had 38 assists with 19 digs and three blocks while Mayenabasi Akpan had 22 kills, 16 digs and two blocks. Taryn Vasey chipped in eight blocks and two kills.
No. 5 Nelson def. No. 21 Lakeridge 3-0 (25-12, 25-17, 25-17): Madi Andrews continues to dominate for the Hawks with 21 kills in their latest sweep of the Pacers. She also had two blocks in the match while Lainey Day contributed 10 kills and two blocks. Avi Trees anchored the defense with three digs per set, and that was the difference in the mind of head coach Lisa McBee.
No. 4 Sheldon def. No. 13 Sandy 3-0: The Tuiotis were locked in to help the Irish sweep by the Pioneers. Yana Tuioti had 23 kills and 10 digs while Nia Tuioti had 40 assists and seven digs. Brynn Smith contributed 10 kills and nine digs and Addy Zauner had 10 kills.
No. 3 Jesuit def. No. 14 Grant 3-0 (25-7, 25-10, 25-12)
No. 11 Oregon City def. No. 6 Forest Grove 3-2 (20-25, 25-16, 22-25, 25-23, 15-11)
No. 7 South Eugene def. No. 10 Westview 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-20): The Axe punched their ticket to Forest Grove with a sweep of the Wildcats. Caroline Combs had 17 kills while swinging .424, along with three blocks and three aces. Sawyer Hanley added nine kills and 10 digs while Sofia Collins had eight kills.
No. 2 South Salem def. No. 18 Barlow 3-0 (25-16, 25-12, 25-20): The Saxons are back in the quarterfinals after a sweep of the Bruins. Briella Mathis had 11 kills and two aces while Avery Herber was close behind with 10 kills. Addi Herber had seven kills and three blocks while Kamree Orizotti handed out 29 assists.

No. 1 South Albany def. No. 16 Canby 3-0 (25-5, 25-9, 25-11): The defending champs are heading back to Forest Grove after a sweep of the Cougars. Audrey Webb led the RedHawks with 14 kills, eight digs and two aces. They also got contributions from Taylor Donaldson (seven kills, four aces, seven digs), Maddie Angel (14 digs, two aces, 2.5 serve-receive) and Kaylee Cordle (13 assists, four kills and six digs).
No. 8 Wilsonville def. No. 9 Churchill 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-22): The Wildcats got strong production from their top five attackers, who all have 100 or more kills on the season, to take out the Lancers in straight sets.

No. 6 West Albany def. No. 11 Caldera 3-1 (25-14, 20-25, 25-15, 25-21): The Bulldogs grinded out a four-set win over the Wolfpack to get back into the quarterfinals. Ava Thompson led in kills with 15 and had four aces and four blocks. Setter Bryn Nieman had 38 assists and seven digs, Ellie Grace had 14 digs and Lily Hamblin added 10 kills and two blocks. “Caldera was tough and made us earn every point,” West Albany head coach Megan Wallace said. “We did a really good job of staying focused and not dwelling on the negative when things got hard. Everyone did their jobs and took care of the little things we have been talking about all season! I am very proud of this team and what they have accomplished this far.”
No. 7 Corvallis def. No. 10 La Salle Prep 3-1 (25-16, 23-25, 25-14, 25-23): Setter Sophie Riggs took a swing in the front row and came away with 13 kills for the Spartans in the win over the Falcons. She also had 21 digs while Josie Fries chipped in 11 kills, Kendall Bly and Lila Cossel each had seven kills, and Addie Copeland had four big blocks and five aces. Karlee Swensen had 22 digs and Daisy Collins had 13.
No. 2 Crescent Valley def. No. 15 North Eugene 3-0 (25-13, 25-12, 25-23)

No. 1 Marist Catholic def. No. 16 La Grande 3-0 (25-21, 25-11, 25-14): Maggie Helfrich helped close the first set with six points as the Spartans cruised by the Tigers. Kimmy Spurlock had 15 kills and six digs while Lauren Rohman chipped in 14 kills, 13 assists and a block.
No. 8 Astoria def. No. 9 Cottage Grove 3-1 (25-18, 19-25, 25-15, 25-16)
No. 5 Philomath def. No. 12 Madras 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-21): Megan Ward led in kills with 15 and had two blocks for the Warriors to help them advance to the quarterfinals. Nora Stanley had 10 kills, Taylor Hudson had seven kills, three blocks and four aces, and Avery Smith dished out 25 assists and two blocks.
No. 4 Cascade def. No. 13 St. Helens 3-0 (25-19, 25-16, 25-16): The Cougars are headed to their fifth consecutive quarterfinals appearance thanks to the sweep of the Lions. Kade Lane led with 12 kills while Emma Kirchenmann and Hailey Abundiz each had seven. Irene Rocha Ibarra had a big night with 40 assists, six aces and six kills.
No. 3 Pendleton def. No. 14 Phoenix 3-0 (25-16, 25-4, 25-19): Avery Brown had 15 kills and five blocks to help the Buckaroos sweep by Phoenix.
No. 6 Henley def. No. 11 Estacada 3-0: Hailey Paulson delivered 30 assists and four aces to help the Hornets sweep by the Rangers. Makayla Schroeder led in kills with 11 and Abby DuBose had eight kills and 10 digs. “We had a really balanced attack, and had big contributions from all five of our hitters,” Henley head coach Sierra Patzke said. “We also had kids come off the bench to serve who were able to get some aces and help us go on several serving runs.”
No. 7 The Dalles def. No. 10 Stayton 3-0 (25-8, 25-21, 25-15)
No. 2 Marshfield def. No. 15 Baker 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, 25-16): The Pirates are heading back to the state tournament and will have home court advantage following the sweep of Baker. Caroline Knutson had 15 kills with Kendall Johnson dishing out 12 assists. Chloe Runn chipped in three aces and 15 digs and Tia Reiber had four aces.

No. 1 Valley Catholic def. No. 16 Portland Adventist 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-17): The Valiants took care of the league-foe Cougars despite missing OH Hadley Entizne. Maeve Albert was key in stabilizing the shifted lineup with 13 kills, three blocks and no errors. Freshman Emma Sarantakos had nine kills and an ace, senior Amiah Dodrill continued her stellar season with four kills and two Gabis in Valesco and Chhay had 10 and nine digs, respectively.

Megan Weil had eight kills, four blocks and three digs; Jocelyn Graham had nine kills and six digs; and Tayor Trent had 26 assists, three aces and seven digs.
No. 6 Cascade Christian def. No. 11 Vale 3-1 (19-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-22): The Challengers shook off some rust to take sets 2-4 and advance to the quarterfinals. A balanced attack saw Avery Hunter, Morgan Maurer and Hadley Wilcox all finish with 10 kills. Setter Rylan Hunter finished with 39 assists.
No. 10 Salem Academy def. No. 7 Coquille 3-2 (24-26, 25-20, 15-25, 25-21, 15-8): Jordyn Copeland led the Crusaders to a thrilling five-set victory. She had 22 kills and 28 digs along with a 2.20 pass rating. Bella McGraw was big at the net with nine kills and six blocks, and Perri Schowalter had 20 digs and 1.95 pass rating.
No. 2 Westside Christian def. No. 18 Pleasant Hill 3-0 (25-16, 25-23, 25-17): The Eagles cruised by the Billies in a sweep. Kinley Deewall was a spark with 10 kills while Brooke Postma and Sam Shepard had double-digit kills as well. Setter Ella Perry made some dynamic plays and added six kills.

No. 1 Crosshill Christian def. No. 16 Bandon 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-11): The Eagles were able to find their rhythm in the first set tied at 16 and turned it into a sweep of the Tigers. Zoey Baker had 14 kills with no errors (.608) while Ellie Bartel chipped in 12 kills. Setters Hannah Dripps and Sadie Troyer both helped keep the pressure on Bandon according to head coach Julie Bennett.
No. 8 Weston-McEwen def. No. 9 Santiam 3-1 (25-16, 17-25, 25-13, 25-10): The TigerScots are heading to the state tournament behind 24 kills, 17 digs and five aces from Charlotte Hansell. Mya Bryan had 15 assists, 11 digs and two aces to help and Reagan Pickard had 18 assists, six kills and five blocks.
No. 5 Heppner def. No. 12 Culver 3-1 (23-25, 25-15, 25-15, 25-15): The Mustangs bounced back in a big way to take out the Bulldogs in four. Isa Payne was everywhere with 20 kills and 29 digs. Maya Payne had 35 assists and Catherine Lindsay had 13 kills and three blocks. “The first set wasn’t our best, but I loved our response,” Heppner head coach Mindy Wilson said. “We dug in, adjusted, and showed the kind of grit that makes me so proud to coach this group.”

No. 3 Myrtle Point def. No. 14 Regis 3-1 (18-25, 25-16, 25-17, 25-16)
No. 6 Clatskanie def. No. 11 Oakridge 3-0 (25-15, 25-9, 25-12): Lacey Willis was swinging free at .581 and 21 kills to help the Tigers advance to the quarterfinals. Willis also had five aces and nine digs, meanwhile Joey Sizemore was the top serve-receive along with eight kills, eight aces, two blocks and nine digs.
No. 7 Portland Christian def. No. 10 East Linn Christian 3-0 (25-8, 25-21, 25-14): Addison Johanson powered the Royals to a sweep of the Eagles. The junior had 12 kills, 16 digs, six aces and seven blocks. Finley Marine contributed 11 assists, six kills, three digs and two aces while Olive Clapp had 16 digs.

No. 5 Powder Valley def. No. 12 Elkton 3-0 (25-17, 25-20, 25-13): Sky Nesser crossed 2,000 career kills for the Badgers by putting down 26 of them in the match. She also had 16 digs and six blocks. Her setter in Janie Bingham had 40 assists, crossing 1,500 for her career. Kellee Dixon also had 16 kills and nine digs.
No. 4 Umpqua Valley Christian def. No. 13 Prairie City 3-0 (25-14, 25-16, 25-13): Megan Hellenthal put down 18 kills and had 13 digs to help the Monarchs reach the quarterfinals. Avery Renyer handed out 20 assists along with eight digs, Julia Johnson was everywhere with eight kills, nine aces and 10 digs, and Bailey Pappas had five blocks.
No. 3 Central Christian def. No. 14 Triangle Lake 3-0 (25-12, 25-8, 25-13): It was a complete team effort for the Tigers in their sweep over the Lakers. Tatum Wills and Stella Adams led in the stat department with eight kills each while Wills had six aces and Adams had four. As a team, the Tigers had 18 aces on the night.
No. 6 North Lake def. No. 11 Southwest Christian 3-0 (25-18, 25-14, 25-8)
No. 10 Imbler def. No. 7 Dufur 3-1 (25-18, 25-23, 18-25, 25-21): Isla Howard powered the Panthers to a four-set win with 11 kills and 27 digs. Kali Camp had 11 kills as well along with four blocks. Maggie Pahlow kept the block party going with six of them and six kills.
No. 15 St. Paul def. No. 31 Crosspoint Christian 3-1 (25-18, 25-22, 21-25, 25-18): The Buckaroos served well and put away the upset minded Warriors in four sets.
