Second-seeded Amity extended its unbeaten streak to 14 with a 4-0 win over Lost River/Bonanza in the 3A/2A/1A girls soccer playoff round of 16 on Tuesday.

Senior Adie Nisly struck in the sixth and 13th minutes to stake the Warriors (14-1-1) to a 2-0 lead. Senior Lyliana Rideout made it 3-0 in the 39th minute, and Nisly capped off a hat trick by finding the net with three minutes left in the match.

Amity, a semifinalist two years ago, is back in the final eight after losing in the round of 16 last season.

“It’s super important,” Nisly said. “We’ve been working on it for the whole season, and I think we’ll keep improving. We can work on pushing up our style of play, not just based on the defense. Varying what we’re doing with our offense, switching it up and keeping the defense guessing.”

Lost River (11-5) adjusted its defense after Nisly's second goal, drawing six offsides calls on Amity the rest of the way, including five in the final 15 minutes of the first half.

But the Warriors were able to counter and add two more goals.

“It’s definitely harder to adjust because we’re used to playing through the defense with our forwards,” Nisly said. “So we were trying to adjust, trying to possess more and taking some outside shots.”
