No. 3 Lincoln dispatched No. 6 Grant 3-1 as the Portland Interscholastic League powers met in the playoffs for the fourth year in a row. Grant took a 1-0 lead in the 24th minute when Cambria Litwinczuk scored from 35 yards out off the top of the goal post. The league champion Cardinals got even in the 44th minute on a 25-yard blast by Frances Reuland over the top of the goalkeeper. Lincoln took the lead in the 63rd minute, a header by Reuland off an assist by Lainie Goldsand, then made it 3-1 three minutes later as Chloe Horton won a one-on-one with the goalkeeper. In the last three playoff meetings, Lincoln defeated Grant in the second round in 2022 but lost to the Generals by 3-1 scores in the 2023 semifinals and 2024 quarterfinals. …
No. 1 Jesuit blanked Sheldon 8-0, closing out the match in the 72nd minute on a goal by Aaliyah Johnson, who had a hat trick and two assists. Natalie Webber scored twice and Vega Arancibia, Eva Stiles and Eva Hairston also had goals. … No. 4 Beaverton eliminated Lakeridge 5-2 to advance to a semifinal date against Metro League rival Jesuit. Lucy Hays scored twice and Olivia Hays, Malin Decker and Kate Parker had single tallies for the Beavers. … No. 2 West Linn turned back Three Rivers League rival Lake Oswego 3-0. No. 2 Bend survived a challenge from No. 10 Canby 3-2, outscoring the Cougars 4-2 in a penalty kick shootout. Shea Manfredi and Tatyana Fobi scored goals to give the Lava Bears 1-0 and 2-1 leads, but Canby forced overtime by scoring on a free kick from about 20 yards out with two minutes left. In the shootout, Manfredi, Paige Langer, Keira Swanson and Piper Abrams converted for Bend. Libby McLaughlin had two goals and two assists, Piper Pasley scored twice and Cruz Donawa added a goal for the the Spartans, who led 3-0 after 15 minutes. McLaughlin added to her state records for single-season assists (39) and career assists (96). … No. 2 The Dalles improved its record to 16-0, recording its 13th shutout by beating Klamath Union 3-0. Ariana Gonzalez got the Riverhawks on the board in the 37th minute and Natalia Elias made it 2-0 in the final minute of the first half. Lilyana Gonzalez finished the scoring in the 68th minute. …
Scappoose notched its sixth consecutive shutout in downing Philomath 2-0. Amalie Anderson scored both goals, converting assists from Penny Ockunzzi in the 27th minute and Anya Gula in the 48th minute. The visiting Eagles took a 1-0 lead in the 60th minute but the Valiants answered five minutes later on a goal by Madi Groshong. All five Valley Catholic players deposited their penalty kicks, and goalkeeper Brooklyn McColister made the decisive save.
