While the competition season for cheerleading teams doesn’t kick into full gear until January, many teams took the mat in December, giving us a sneak peek at what we can expect in 2026.

On Dec. 6th, 5A and 6A teams showed what they have been working on in both the traditional and game day divisions in the Falcon Rumble at Liberty High School.

In the JV Traditional division, Tualatin earned first place and Westview took second. In the JV Game Day division, Forest Grove competed unopposed.

In the Varsity Game Day divisions, 5A’s Central and Corvallis went head-to-head, with Central earning the first-place trophy, while the top three in 6A were Forest Grove (first), Lakeridge (second), and West Linn (third).

The Varsity Traditional divisions included both 6A Varsity and 5A/6A Coed. The winner in the 6A Traditional division was Westview, followed by Tualatin’s all-girl team in second, and David Douglas in third. In coed, Tualatin bested Beaverton to earn first place.

In Grants Pass, the Caveman Cheer Challenge also showcased teams in both the Game Day and Traditional divisions.

In the JV Game Day divisions, Crater (5A) and Grants Pass (6A) both competed unopposed. In the Varsity Game Day divisions, Rogue River (1A/2A/3A), Crater (5A), and Grants Pass (6A) also competed unopposed.

While many teams were unopposed, Mazama and Phoenix went head-to-head in the 4A Varsity Game Day division. Mazama ultimately pulled through with the win.

In the Varsity Traditional divisions, Crater took the win over Eagle Point in 5A, while South Medford competed unopposed in the 5A/6A Varsity Coed Traditional division.

The following weekend, teams showed off at two competitions: The Raven Rumble at Ridgeview High School and the Lebanon Warrior Rumble at Lebanon High School.

At Ridgeview, we saw more JV and Varsity teams competing in the Game Day and Traditional divisions.

In the JV Game Day division, Caldera, Crook County, and Ridgeview battled for the top spot. Ultimately, Ridgeview took first place, with Caldera following in second, and Crook County in third.

In the Game Day divisions, Mazama won in 4A, followed by Pendleton (second) and Ontario (third). In 5A, Ridgeview snagged first, while Redmond earned second.
