WILSONVILLE – The Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) has hired Katie Hartman as an assistant executive director with the association. She will begin her tenure with the OSAA in July.
Hartman joins the OSAA from Sherwood High School (Sherwood, Ore.) where she has served multiple roles since joining the school in 2008 – most recently a four-year stint as the Bowmen’s athletic director (2022-26). She was named the 6A Athletic Director of the Year by the Oregon Athletic Director’s Association (OADA) in 2025 and served as the president for the Pacific Conference during the 2024-25 academic year.
“I am excited for the opportunity to work for OSAA and grateful for the chance to serve the schools, students, coaches, and families across Oregon,” Hartman said. “I look forward to helping enrich opportunities and enhance experiences for all student-athletes, ensuring they continue to benefit from the positive impact of education-based activities and athletics.”
In her tenure as athletic director, Hartman assisted the OSAA by hosting the boys and girls soccer state championships for the 6A and 5A classifications at Sherwood High School in 2023. She also coordinated the Reser’s Tournament of Champions in 2025 and 2026, was the state soccer scheduling director and was a member of the OSAA rankings committee and OSAA soccer working group.
“We are excited to have Katie join our team at the OSAA,” said OSAA executive director Peter Weber. “Her relationships across the state, combined with her experience as a player, coach, and athletic director in Oregon, will serve our membership well.”
Hartman joined Sherwood in 2008 as an English-Language Arts teacher and assistant basketball coach before she became the school’s head girls soccer coach in 2013. She compiled a 101-28-20 career record leading the Bowmen on the pitch and was thrice named the Three Rivers League coach of the year (2014, 2016-17). She was the state coach of the year following a 16-2-1 record and 6A state championship in 2016.
Prior to her arrival at Sherwood, Hartman coached and taught at West Salem (2003-06) and Westview (2007-08). She was the head girls soccer coach at West Salem during her three years with the Titans.
A two-time graduate of Willamette University, Hartman holds a degree in English and a Master of Arts in teaching from the school. She was inducted into the school’s Athletic Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2020. Hartman played on four conference championship soccer teams for the Bearcats and helped Willamette reach postseason play all four years of her career. She was named to the NCAA Division III Final Four All-Tournament Team in 1998, and she was selected NWC Player of the Year and NCAA Division III All-America in 1999. She also played basketball at Willamette where she still appears in the school’s record book.
Hartman is a graduate of Sprague High School.
