WILSONVILLE – OSAA staff members are headed around the state. The annual OSAA Captains Camp, supported by the Oregon Army National Guard and Pacific Office Automation, returns this week and an expansion to three separate dates.
- Saturday, Sept. 19 – Summit High School (Bend, Ore.)
- Sunday, Sept. 20 – Stanfield Secondary School (Stanfield, Ore.)
- Sunday, Sept. 27 – Glencoe High School (Hillsboro, Ore.)
Each site will feature local speakers and curriculum on developing aspiring leaders.
“This is an opportunity for intentional leadership for future captains,” said OSAA assistant executive director Missy Smith. “We train and develop athletes to prepare for contests, and we believe we need to prepare captains and aspiring captains with the same level of development for leadership opportunities.
The Captains Camp was held at Tigard High School in 2023-24, and at North Eugene High School in 2025.
Registration for the Captains Camp remains open. Interested OSAA student-athletes should reach out to their school’s athletic director to register.
