Jesuit 5, Beaverton 1 – Flame throwing junior right hander Mick Abel tossed a complete game, striking out 11 without yielding a walk, and Ethan Wilson, Kevin Blair and Joe Angeli paced the offense, which scored three in the bottom of the sixth to break open a close game.

South Salem 7, West Linn 6 – Greyson Hanowell, Ryan Brown and Kaiden Doten each hit home runs to help propel South Salem to the semifinals for the second straight year. Hanowell’s homer gave the Saxons a 3-0 lead in the first but West Linn used a Jonathan Kelley grand slam in the top of the fourth to take the lead. South Salem re-took the lead in the fifth on two-run homers from Brown and Doten and the Saxons withstood West Linn’s seventh inning Lion rally when Elijah Enomoto-Haole got the strike out to end the game on a full count curve balls with the bases juiced.

Clackamas 6, Roseburg 2 -- Clackamas defeated Roseburg behind the strong pitching of sophomore Kaiden Miller. Miller went six innings, allowing two runs on four hits. Grant Schoen came in the seventh in relief with two on and nobody out. He finished it in three pitches with a double play ball and a comebacker. Schoen also lead the way offensively with a two-run homer in the fourth. Jackson Jaha had three hits and Brody Upton two to pace the Cavs' 11 hit attack.

Central Catholic 6, Lakeridge 3 – Jackson Elder and Christian Cooney hit home runs and Cooney went six strong on the bump, with 11 strike outs, to lead the Rams to the road win. Elder's homer, in the top of the fifth, knotted the contest. Cooney's three-run shot came in the top of the sixth. Cameron Clayton had two of Lakeridge’s five hits.

Central 6, La Salle Prep 4 --– A two-run single by Brendan Lesmeister highlighted a 6-0 start for Central, which held off a La Salle Prep four-run sixth inning rally to claim the win. Lesmeister, on in relief, worked out of a couple of sixth-inning jams before tossing a 1-2-3 seventh to get the save in relief of winning pitcher Ruben Cedillo.

Thurston 18, Silverton 8 -- Decker Stedman, Jake Riley and Isaiah Burke all homered and Kyle Casley and Casen Phillips combined for four hits and five RBIs for host Thurston, which built an 18-0 lead heading to the top of the seventh. Jacoby Quintero launched a grand slam in an eight-run seventh for Silverton but it wasn't nearly enough.

West Albany 5, Churchill 4 -- Churchill loaded the bases in each of the first three innings without scoring and left a total of 16 runners on base in the upset loss at home.

Pendleton 6, Crescent Valley 0 -- Cooper Roberts threw a complete game shutout for the Bucks, who went ahead in the fourth on Tanner Sweek’s two-run double.

Banks 4, Gladstone 3 (13 innings) -- Trask Applegate singled home the game-winning run in the bottom of the 13th inning to give the Braves the dramatic win. Gladstone trailed 3-2 going into the top of the seventh but got the equalizer on a Matthew Kuhn single. Thomas Cook got the win on the mound, tossing six innings of scoreless relief.

Hidden Valley 7, Junction City 3 -- Hidden Valley scored seven runs in a decisive fourth inning to secure the home win. Lawrence Matusik plated two with a single and Nate Vidlak cleared the bases with a double in the inning, helping Sam Vidlak, who yielded one run in four innings on the mound, pick up the victory. Henry Casarez had two hits in the loss for JC.

Astoria 8, Sweet Home 1 – Adam Feldman hit a first-inning three-run homer as part of a four-run first inning and Will Reed tossed a complete game two-hitter for the Fishermen, who advanced to their third semifinal over the past four seasons. “Everything was working for us today,” said Astoria coach Glen Fromwiller. “Excellent pitching by Will Reed, nearly flawless defense and a hard hitting offense kept things comfortable throughout the game.”

Henley 9, Philomath / Alsea 4 -- Brooks Stearns hit a two-run homer in the first but Philomath could not overcome Henley, which scored the game’s final four runs to win going away at home.

Pleasant Hill 7, Joseph / Enterprise / Wallowa / Elgin 1 -- Pleasant Hill took a 4-0 lead after three, which was more than enough for hurler Zach Hart, who pitched 6 1/3 innings and had a one-hitter going into the sixth inning against the Eagles. He finished with six strikeouts and yielded just one unearned run. Colin Way, Jayden Casarez and Stephen Parmenter keyed the offense, combining for six hits, four runs and four runs batted in.

La Pine 4, Rainier 1 -- Adam Plant tossed a complete game three-hitter to send defending champion La Pine to the semifinals for the second straight year. Plant struck out seven and also had an RBI single that gave the Hawks a 2-0 lead in the second inning. Joey Tripp’s RBI single in the seventh broke the shutout for Rainier.

Santiam Christian 12, Taft 6 -- Mason Wirth’s suicide squeeze plated Josh Verdeyen with the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth and Sean Riley added a two-run single later in the frame for the Eagles, who reached the semifinals for the second straight year. Taft led this game 4-0 after 1 1/2 innings. Santiam Christian scored four in the bottom of the second and two in the third to take the lead but the teams were knotted at 6-6 headed to the last of the sixth.

Warrenton 3, Brookings-Harbor 2 -- Dalton Knight threw a complete game and drove in two runs with a single as part of a three-run first inning in Warrenton's road win. Adam Shew was strong on the mound in the loss for Brookings-Harbor and added three hits at the plate.

2A/1A

Knappa 9, Regis 1 – Tristan Wallace struck out 11 batters over six innings and Wallace, Shaun Lackey, Eli Takalo and Ryson Patterson had two hits apiece to pace the Loggers to the win and into the semifinals for the sixth straight year.

Umpqua Valley Christian / Melrose Christian 8, Reedsport 1 -- An eight-run first inning propelled the Monarchs to the win. KC Pettibone, Isaiah Heard, Aaron Buechley, Evan Buechley, Jacob Luther and CJ Gale all drove in runs during the onslaught.

Kennedy 12, Grant Union / Prairie City 3 – Demetre Marseille, Rocco Carley and Dylan Kleinschmit each spiked the plate twice for the Trojans, which got strong pitching from the tandem of Brady Traeger and Josh Valladares in a great team effort. Jacob Vaughn and Tristan Morris had two hits each in the loss for GU/PC.

North Douglas 12, Monroe 3 -- North Douglas snapped Monroe’s 20-game winning streak with a 12-hit attack that propelled the Warriors to their first semifinal in almost 25 years. Tyler Kallinger went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and Wyatt Beckham was 2-for-5 with three RBIs to lead the North Douglas attack. Brian Erickson was the winning pitcher. He allowed just three hits and one earned run in 6 1/3 innings on the mound.
