2A Boys Track & Field Championship Qualifications

2A Boys Track & Field

A minimum of 13 competitors will qualify at the 2A State Championships in each event, using the following methods.

Automatic Qualifiers

  1. Automatic Qualifiers – Top three placers at Special Districts 1, Special District 2, and Special District 3; and top two placers at Special District 4, in each individual or relay automatically qualifies for the State Championships. If there is a tie for final automatic qualifying place, it shall be determined by the League/Special District prior to submitting the official state championship entries to the OSAA.

Qualifying Standards

  1. Qualifying Standards – Championship finalists in individual and relay events at each District Meet who meet the qualifying standard (4th place average of the last four State Championships with the standard never to be easier than the previous year) for individual events and relays automatically qualify.

Wildcards

  1. Wildcards – If application of the eleven automatic qualifiers and any qualifying standards that were met does not produce at least 13 entries, then wildcard qualifier(s) will be added. Wildcard qualifiers will have the next best time/mark in that event from a combination of all times/marks from all District Meets.
