6A Girls Track & Field Championship Qualifications

6A Girls Track & Field


A minimum of 17 competitors will qualify at the 6A State Championships in each event, using the following methods.

Automatic Qualifiers

  1. Automatic Qualifiers – Top two placers in each individual and relay event at each District Meet automatically qualifies for the State Championships. If there is a tie for second place, it shall be determined by the League prior to submitting the official state championship entries to the OSAA.

Qualifying Standards

  1. Qualifying Standards – Championship finalists in individual and relay events at each District Meet who meet the qualifying standard (4th place average of the last four State Championships with the standard never to be easier than the previous year) for individual events and relays automatically qualify.

Wildcards

  1. Wildcards – If application of the fourteen automatic qualifiers and any qualifying standards that were met does not produce at least 17 entries, then wildcard qualifier(s) will be added. Wildcard qualifiers will have the next best time/mark in that event from a combination of all times/marks from all District Meets.
