The semifinals of the 1A tournament were Friday at Baker High School.

Senior Kortney Doman and freshman Kaitlyn Siegner put on dominant performances to propel No. 1 Crane past No. 5 St. Paul 66-33 in the semifinals of the OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union 1A girls basketball tournament Friday night at Baker High School.

Doman, the reigning 1A player of the year, had 15 points, 15 steals, seven rebounds and six assists. Siegner had 25 points, 10 rebounds and four steals, making 4 of 5 three-point attempts.

Crane (29-0), the runner-up last year, can claim its fourth title in five seasons Saturday when it meets No. 2 North Douglas in the championship game. The Mustangs defeated North Douglas 69-56 in a nonleague game at Gilchrist on Feb. 5, their closest game of the season.

Doman and Siegner did most of their damage in the first half Friday as Crane built a 48-18 lead. Doman had 13 steals and Siegner scored 19 points before the break.

St. Paul (22-7) took an 11-7 lead midway through the first quarter on a basket by Audra Rose, but Crane scored the next 11 points to pull ahead 18-11. The Mustangs scored the last 17 points of the first half and the first basket of the second half to lead 50-18.

Crane had 23 steals and forced 32 turnovers.

St. Paul got a team-high nine points from Addi Arnzen.

No. 2 North Douglas 60, No. 6 Powder Valley 44: Trailing by four points late in the third quarter, North Douglas (27-3) went on an 18-0 run to take control and knock out the Badgers (22-7).

The Warriors, who were down 38-31 midway through the third quarter, pulled even at 42-42 on a layup by Gracie Rodgers and went ahead 44-42 on a jumper by Brooke McHaffie with 6:28 left in the game.

Brooklyn Cyr and Rodgers hit back-to-back three-pointers as North Douglas built its lead to 56-42 with 1:17 remaining. The Warriors outscored Powder Valley 20-2 in the fourth quarter.

McHaffie had 19 points, five rebounds and four blocks and Cyr had 15 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and six steals, making two three-pointers. Powder Valley got 15 points from Jodi Bingham and eight points and 18 rebounds from Kellee Dixon.

North Douglas will play in its second championship game. The Warriors were runners-up to Country Christian in 2016.
