No. 1 Clackamas 13, No. 8 Sheldon 3 (5 innings) – Ben Foglio, Kyle Kristensen and Justin Larsen had three hits apiece as the top-seeded Cavaliers rolled in the five-inning game.

No. 4 Jesuit 12, No. 5 Willamette 11 – Jake Rolling had three hits, including a solo shot in the fifth, which proved to be the game winner. Willamette, which had 12 hits, led 7-5 in the third before Jesuit put up a six-spot in the bottom of the frame, keyed by Makoa Kim’s two-run double. The Warriors rallied to knot the score at 11-11 before Rolling’s homer decided things. Asher Bates earned the win in relief for the Crusaders. 

No. 3 West Linn 3, No. 6 Grant 2 – Jinki Tomita held host West Linn scoreless through 6.1 innings, but had to depart with two on and a 2-0 lead when he reached the pitch limit. After Hank Curdy executed a perfect drag bunt to load the bases for the Lions, Caden Klouda drove in one with a fielder’s choice before Gavin Thaut delivered a two-run single to send the Brown Field fans home happy. Jack Frishman started the game for West Linn and pitched well. Klouda finished up and got the win.

No. 2 Tualatin 11, No. 10 Newberg 4 – The Timberwolves recorded 12 hits, and Shane Haddad got the win in relief with a strong 3.2 innings on the mound.

No. 8 Thurston 6, No. 1 Corvallis 3 -- Thurston trailed 3-0 with two outs in the top of the sixth before scoring six times, capped by a two-run double from Grady Saunders and an RBI single from Brock Johnson. Cole Badger drove in all three runs for Corvallis, which became the first top seed to suffer defeat.

No. 4 Summit 5, No. 12 West Albany 1 – Andrew Guthrie was lights out on the mound and the Storm built a 5-0 lead through five innings to cruise to the win. Miles Boehm drove in two for the victors and the top five hitters in Summit’s lineup combined for six hits, three runs scored and two RBIs.

No. 6 Central 16, No. 14 Silverton 6 (5 innings) -- The Panthers had 14 hits and had competitive at bats up and down the lineup in the dominating win. Santi Alarcon's three-run homer in the first set the tone for Central, which got a strong start from Joe Mendazona and good relief efforts from Max Ferris and Jackson Barba. JT Girod and Owen Petrone had three hits apiece for the Panthers. Alarcon finished with two hits and five RBIs. Cooper Larson had two hits and three RBIs from the 9-hole.

No. 10 Ridgeview 6, No. 2 Hood River Valley 4 – Finn Chambers gave up 11 hits but was a bulldog for Ridgeview and went the distance in the Ravens’ road win. Bennett Wyatt and Ryden Nakamura each had three hits and combined for four runs and two RBIs. Chambers helped his own cause with two hits. Ridgeview coach Shane Nakamura called the energy in the ballpark “electric” and said that both teams played with heart, energy and emotion.

No. 1 Henley, No. 8 Pendleton / Nixyaawii – Game rescheduled for Saturday.

No. 12 Tillamook 10, No. 13 Estacada 4 – Tillamook led 6-0 after two, getting timely hits from Wrigley Percy, Tyler Larson, Josh Manns, Tristan Smith-Evan and Aden Garcia, and kept the lead until the top of the sixth, when Estacada plated four runs. Tillamook answered with four of its own in the bottom of the frame to slam the door. Kevin Hurliman went six innings with 10 Ks for the win. Percy tossed a 1-2-3 seventh to close it out. Percy, Manns, Garcia and Vinnie Maciel each had two hits for the Cheesemakers.

No. 3 Marist Catholic 12, No. 11 Phoenix 1 (5 innings) – Marist scored eight runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to pull away for the win. The 2024 and 2025 state runner up got big offensive games from Alex Malpass, who was 3-for-3 with three runs scored and four RBIs; and Jalen Smith, who was 2-for-3 with three RBIs.

No. 2 Scappoose 5, No. 7 Stayton 4 -- Asher Grogg was dominant on the mound for Scappoose, struck out eight through five innings and left with a 5-1 lead. Stayton rallied to within one and had two runners on in the seventh when Levi Lozada made a sliding catch in foul territory to end the game. Cole Krieger led the Scappoose offense with a solo home run and RBI single. Lozada, Trever Olsen and Matthew Neilson also had two hits each for the victors.

No. 1 Taft 3, No. 8 Sisters 0 – Tied at 0-0 through five innings, Taft broke through with three in the bottom of the sixth. Alejandro Hernandez’ two-run single with the bases loaded was the big hit. Zack Hankins went six on the mound for the Tigers, yielding just one hit while fanning 15. Hayden Weiss set Sisters down in order in the seventh to get the save and sent Taft to the semifinals.

No. 5 Warrenton 9, No. 4 Vale 6 – Warrenton made the trip across the state worthwhile, downing the Vikings in a game that hung in the balance in the seventh after Vale plated three. The Vikings, who came into the game on an 18-game winning streak and having scored in double digits the previous seven games, had their rally snuffed by RJ Thornton’s diving catch and throw to complete a game-ending double play. Thornton also had two big hits at the plate as did Duke Anderson, who scored three runs and had a two-run double in the fourth.

No. 3 Creswell 12, No. 6 Burns / Crane 0 (5 innings) – Creswell scored nine runs in the bottom of the first in the Bulldogs’ runaway win. Jaxon Pelham starred on the mound, twirling a no-hitter with 12 strike outs. He helped his own cause with a two-run single in the first. Landon Vaughn was 3-for-4, scored twice, had two RBIs and stole two bases.

No. 7 South Umpqua / Days Creek 7, No. 2 Cascade Christian 6 – The Lancers trailed 5-3 in the sixth but turned the game around thanks to two-run singles from Adam Whetzel and Crew Donner. The win avenged last year’s loss in the quarterfinals to the Challengers. That also was a one-run game.


2A/1A

No. 1 Kennedy 6, No. 8 Grant Union / Prairie City / Monument / Dayville 3 – Brady Panuke struck out eight over six innings and Jake Beyer struck out the size in the seventh to thwart a Prospector rally. Gio Vaquera had two hits and two RBIs to spark the Trojan offense. Panuke scored twice.

No. 4 Monroe / Alsea 10, No. 5 Myrtle Point 2 -- Asher Strand hit an RBI triple as part of a five-run second inning for the Dragons, who led 6-0 after two in the decisive win. Kyler Campbell won for the 10th time on the mound. He gave up one run over four innings while fanning seven. Allen Ellsworth drove in three runs for the victorious Dragons. Owen Roberts stole three bases. Lane Backman went 3-for-3 to lead Myrtle Point's offense.

No. 3 Umpqua Valley Christian 15, No. 11 Heppner / Ione 7 – The two-time reigning state champions won a high-scoring affair to give head coach Dave York victory No. 500 all-time at the school. Ryan Shaver had a game for the ages, with four hits in as many trips, including two doubles and a second-inning grand slam. Shaver drove in eight! Cade Downie added three hits and two RBIs for the Monarchs, who may have won by eight but faced a determined Heppner / Ione team that made them work for the win.

No. 2 Crosshill Christian 8, No. 10 Country Christian / North Clackamas Christian 2 – Crosshill Christian broke open a 2-2 game with a Tayden Isaacson single in the bottom of the fourth, then added five one frame later, capped by Gavin Chin’s two-run single. Miles Lute tossed five scoreless innings in relief to get the win.
